“Scrumptious savoury pastries.”
Pop in to Ginger & Dobbs in Shoreham in time for tea. A charming grocery store with a tea area, Young British Foodie winner, Lucie Bennett, supplies them with scrumptuous savoury pastries, scones, cakes and tarts. Failing that, get in touch with her directly as she will happily undertake to bake a special wedding or celebration cake.
“Must-try bake is carrot and caramel cake.”
Lucie Bennett’s must-try bake is carrot and caramel cake, legendary for its layer of salted caramel through the centre and fluffy vanilla cream cheese cheese frosting and candied orange. Baking judge Lily Vanilli said Bennett’s baking was the next big thing, because “she combines classic training with home-grown produce and a very unique approach.”
"Lucie is one of the most exciting pastry chefs to emerge from the baking revival over the last few years. She combines classical training with a modern, fresh approach and wonderful homegrown produce. A true original - we were proud to select her as a YBF in 2015"
“Creative, meticulous and great fun.”
Lucie designed and produced our wedding cake and patisseries. They were creative, looked amazing and tasted wonderful, using seasonal ingredients with subtle, unique flavour combinations. Lucie’s great fun, collaborative, professional, meticulous and a pleasure to work with. We have since asked for special birthday cakes and, again, still utterly impressed.
“A rare Pâtissier with a great eye and artistic touch.”
Lucie is a rare Pâtissier who has a great eye and artistic touch that brings exceptional creations to life. Her warmth is enhanced into her detailed patisseries and chocolates. Most importantly, her creations are scrumptious and bring lovely moments to share with your friends and family.
